Our History
A History of Compassion
Through the years the Lown Group has been home to some of the world’s leading physicians in the cardiovascular field, physicians who have spent countless hours researching and treating heart disease and conditions.
Dr. Lown has devoted over fifty years to the practice of medicine, the field of cardiology, and the betterment of humankind. He is the author of The Lost Art of Healing and Prescription for Survival: A Doctor’s Journey to End Nuclear Madness.

We help our patients avoid unnecessary visits to the emergency room and hospital. We do this by focusing on prevention and providing proactive care. From guiding patients to better lifestyle choices to making sure they have all the necessary screenings and tests, we manage our patients' health with the utmost care.

But when necessary we will refer our patients to trusted colleagues at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). BWH, one of the top hospitals for Cardiology in the world, offers cardiac catheterization and stent procedures, heart surgery, and electrical procedures including pacemakers and ablation of abnormal heart rhythms.

We bring together the best of both worlds - the old-fashioned, patient-centered, unhurried approach to patient care, with access to the latest medical techniques and procedures at BWH. We are always there for you, ensuring that you have what you need at our clinic and get what you need in the event a referrals to BWH is needed.
Hospital Affiliations
Our Board-Certified cardiologists hold teaching positions at Harvard Medical School and faculty appointments at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In the event of hospitalization or invasive procedures, we will make every effort to admit our patients to the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where our physicians will see hospitalized patients on a daily basis in order to provide continuity between the hospital and the clinical setting.
