Risk Assessment and Preventive Care

"We believe in doing more for our patients and less to our patients.”

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, driven by prevalence of heart attacks and strokes.  Atherosclerosis is a decades long process, usually related to known cardiovascular risk factors. At our clinic we do a thorough risk analysis of our patients. This consists of three major areas: risk assessment, risk management and risk communication.  From looking at your risk based on your age, gender, race, and family history to analyzing your lifestyle behaviors, emotional and physical health, current and previous health conditions and more. We complete a detailed risk assessment in order to have a full understanding of your baseline health and personal risk.
Prevention of cardiovascular events is always be our primary concern.  There are some simple steps we can all take to prevent heart attacks and strokes, such as not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, getting adequate physical activity and eating a balanced healthy diet.  Achieving target values for cholesterol, blood pressure and blood glucose are key as well.

As the old saying goes, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."  We take this advice to heart and work with you to make sure you have everything you need to walk the path of prevention throughout your life.  And we support you as you work towards this goal.
